AI Solutions Architect

We are seeking an experienced AI Solutions Architect to take the lead in designing, architecting, and implementing AI-powered solutions across our range of enterprise software products.

In this position, you will establish the company’s AI technology strategy, assess new and emerging AI technologies, develop intelligent AI agents, and lead the engineering team in building secure, scalable, and production-ready AI solutions.

You will collaborate closely with product managers, software architects, and development teams to incorporate AI into our cloud-based and on-premise applications, including accounting, payroll, point-of-sale (POS), and other business software.

This is a hands-on technical leadership position that requires strong knowledge of software architecture, practical experience in developing AI systems for production, and the ability to mentor engineers while encouraging the adoption of AI across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

AI Strategy & Technical Leadership

• Establish and lead the company’s AI technology roadmap.
• Develop the overall AI architecture for multiple software products.
• Assess emerging AI technologies and recommend practical ways to adopt them.
• Establish standards, architecture principles, and engineering best practices for AI development.
• Lead AI projects from the initial concept through to technical implementation and production.
• Work with product owners and engineering teams to identify AI opportunities that can provide significant value.
• Guide and mentor software engineers in AI technologies, architecture, and implementation best practices.
• Encourage knowledge sharing about AI and promote strong technical standards across the engineering organization.

AI Agent Development

• Design and develop intelligent AI agents that can automate business processes and support end users.
• Develop agentic workflows that involve planning, reasoning, memory, and task execution.
• Build AI agents that can securely connect with APIs, databases, enterprise systems, and external services through tool or function calling.
• Develop multi-agent architectures when needed.
• Continuously enhance the reliability, accuracy, performance, and user experience of AI agents.

Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)

• Design and develop scalable Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems.
• Develop pipelines for collecting, processing, indexing, and managing documents and knowledge.
• Improve document chunking, embedding methods, hybrid search, reranking, and overall retrieval quality.
• Assess retrieval effectiveness using measurable performance metrics.
• Minimize AI hallucinations and continuously enhance the quality of generated answers.
• Develop reusable knowledge retrieval services that can be used across different products.

Large Language Model (LLM) Integration

• Incorporate commercial and open-source Large Language Models (LLMs) into enterprise software.
• Assess AI models based on factors such as quality, response speed (latency), scalability, operating costs, and licensing requirements.
• Apply prompt engineering, structured outputs, tool or function calling, and model evaluation techniques.
• Develop strategies for selecting appropriate models and creating backup or fallback options.
• Monitor AI responses and continuously improve their quality.

AI Platform & Enterprise Integration

• Develop reusable AI services and shared infrastructure that can support multiple software products.
• Integrate AI capabilities into both cloud-based and on-premise enterprise applications.
• Design scalable APIs and backend services to support AI components.
• Connect AI solutions with existing business systems, databases, APIs, and third-party services.
• Ensure AI solutions are secure, scalable, easy to maintain, and cost-efficient.
• Work closely with frontend, backend, DevOps, QA, and product teams throughout the entire software development lifecycle.

AI Evaluation, Quality & Operations

• Develop evaluation frameworks to assess AI quality, accuracy, response time, and user satisfaction.
• Establish regression testing procedures for prompts, RAG systems, and AI agents.
• Monitor AI systems in production and continuously improve their performance and reliability.
• Optimize AI infrastructure, token consumption, and operational expenses.
• Investigate and resolve production-related AI issues while driving ongoing improvements.

AI Governance & Security

• Apply AI security best practices and establish appropriate safeguards.
• Ensure confidential customer and business information is handled securely.
• Develop AI systems that meet privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.
• Implement responsible AI practices to minimize hallucinations, harmful outputs, and data leaks.
• Monitor AI usage, costs, performance, and overall operational health.
